Start light painting in minutes, with control you will not outgrow.

Everything a beginner needs to start drawing with light: the RGB Critter BT Light Engine, the Acrylic Writer for sharp line art, the Fiber Optic Duster for soft glowing trails, the Light Painting Tube for broad ribbons of color, and a Blade Holder with three acrylic blades for drawing shapes. Pick one of 16.7 million colors, save it to the light, and repeat the exact same effect frame after frame.

The battery and USB-C cable are included, so the kit works out of the box. Everything else in the 200+ RGB Critter accessory range is sold separately. Rated 5/5, Editor's Choice by Photofocus.

What's included

RGB Critter BT Light Engine
Acrylic Writer, Length: 1/2", Diameter: 1/4"
Light Painting Tube, 23 inch (58 cm), no threads at either end and no twist-on cap
Fiber Optic Duster - Black
RGB Critter Tube Adapter - Long, black
Modular Saber Tube Adapter, including the threaded plastic plug with the reflector
Light Painting Blade Holder
Mini Blade Set
2500mAh 18650 Battery, rechargeable
USB-C charging cable

How the tube goes together

The Light Painting Tube is a bare tube with no metal fittings on either end, so the two adapters in this kit are what mount it and what carry anything else you add.

Twist the RGB Critter Tube Adapter (Long) onto the front of the RGB Critter BT, push the tube into its socket and lock the two set screws.
Clamp the Modular Saber Tube Adapter onto the far end of the tube. It adds an AOAM female thread there, so twist-on accessories can go on a plain tube.
Twist the included plastic plug into that thread. It carries a reflector that sends light back down the tube, so the whole tube reads brighter.

Save presets to the light and shoot without your phone

Many color lights dim by flickering on and off, which a long exposure can record as broken trails. The RGB Critter BT can drive its LEDs with a steady analog signal instead, so every stroke comes out solid and vivid.

Tntphotography, Critter Bt

I am feom the UK, I have purchased light paint tools from the UK and Europe, best advice i can give is buy American, worth every penny/cent, trust me on the build quality, it is superior.
Not only build quality but the functionality of the flashlight alone is amazing, if you can think of it it can pretty much do it.
I have not had a chance to test the attachments but honestly compared to the others I have bought i know these will grt the job done.

I love the quality so much I will be purchasing more attachments within the month

Thanks so much, really appreciate this.

We put a lot of focus on build quality and versatility, so it’s awesome to hear it’s standing out for you. Excited for you to try the attachments too.

Appreciate the support 🙏

Vielen Dank ❤️. Gerne wieder. Herzliche Grüße Dana

Vielen Dank, liebe Dana! ❤️

Easy to use right out of the box. Ants On Melon Tools are meant to last. The RGB Critter Flashlight is brighter than the others I have used.

Great bit of kitfrom the US, delivery was very quick

Coming from the US, delivery was very quick. Arrived in good condition and very pleased with the torch and attachments.
I do wish AntsonaMelon would make more products available on Amazon UK or have a UK distributor. The important duty sort of took the edge off the delivery. But that’s nothing to do with the product itself.

Hi David, we're so glad you're happy with the Light Painting Kit! Thank you for your feedback on availability—I'll pass that along. We appreciate your support and hope you enjoy more creative projects with it!

Excellent quality tools for extending creative possibilities

Thank you so much!

We’re really glad to hear the kit is helping expand your creative possibilities. That’s exactly what we designed it for 🙂

Appreciate you taking the time to share your experience!

Light painting like a pro.

So i am a light painter and wanted to lighten my loud. This eliminates carrying 50+ tools and provides all the colors and affects. It also works in bluetooth so I can use it for other light effects.

Thank you so much, Ophellia!

We love hearing this, especially from a fellow light painter. Making your setup lighter while still giving you all the colors and effects is exactly what we had in mind 🙂

And yes, the Bluetooth control really opens up a lot of creative possibilities beyond traditional light painting.

Appreciate you sharing your experience!

High quality product

The RGB Critter BT is an outstanding product.

The build quality feels excellent, and the mobile app offers a really impressive level of customization — you can fine-tune just about everything to get exactly the effect you want.

One of the main reasons I chose this product is that you can immediately tell it was designed by passionate people who truly care about light painting. That passion clearly shows in both the design and the user experience.

It’s an absolute pleasure to use, and I highly recommend it without hesitation.

Thank you so much, Lionel!

It really means a lot to hear that the passion behind the Critter comes through. That’s exactly what we aim for.

We’re glad you’re enjoying the level of control and customization. That’s where the magic happens 🙂

Really appreciate the recommendation!

Light Painting Photgraphy Kit.

I am amazed at how easy it is to use The RGB Critter BT. I had the original critter but now have the new one also. Being able to set it up with the phone app has made it more user friendly. And I can use both for more fun! In the beginners kit I got three tools, they are very fun to use! I highly recommend this kit for anyone experimenting with light painting or just starting to play.

Thank you so much, Ginnie!

We love hearing that you’re enjoying both the original Critter and the new BT together. That’s where things really start to get fun 🙂

Glad the app has made things easier to use, and that you’re having a great time with the tools in the kit.

Really appreciate the recommendation!

I am in love!

I started light painting a couple of years ago. I’ve always loved the genre. I have so many flashlights. Once i found the RGB Critter from AOM, I’ve not bought any other flashlights. This little guy is absolutamente fantastic. The critter is a monster!! I have gotten so much better with it. The combinations you can make, the modes, everything in one unit, priceless.
I am looking forward to purchasing another one in the future.
Thanks for making such a cool tool! This thing rocks.

Thank you so much, Michelle!

We’re really glad to hear the Critter has become your go-to and that it’s helped you grow your light painting.

It means a lot to hear how much you’re enjoying the different modes and possibilities all in one tool.

We truly appreciate your support and kind words!

This company makes amazing, creative products that last! AND they have incredible customer support! I had a question about a product I bought years ago and they responded as if I were their biggest and best customer. LOVE this company, their service and their products. Please support this small business. You will not be disappointed!

Critter BT is a must-have flashlight for creative lightpainters

I had the Critter BT with accessories shipped to Germany because it was recommended to me by several people in the light painting community. I can fully confirm the enthusiasm for it—this light offers an incredible number of possibilities: great effects, beautiful color gradients, individual brightness and strobe modes, all controllable via an app and organized in playlists.
The battery lasts well and recharges quickly. Customer support is also extremely friendly (no bot) and solution-oriented—many thanks for that!
A clear recommendation from me as well 👌🏼 for all light painters 🔦

Thanks so much for the kind words, Marion. We’re really happy to hear the Critter BT is living up to the recommendations and that you’re enjoying the creative flexibility it offers. And thank you for the shout-out to our support team, that truly means a lot. Wishing you many more light painting sessions ahead

What's included in the beginner kit?

The RGB Critter BT flashlight plus the four tools light painters reach for first: an Acrylic Writer for crisp lines, a Fiber Optic Duster for texture, a 23 inch Light Painting Tube for bold trails, and a Light Painting Blade Holder with three acrylic blades for drawing shapes. The RGB Critter Tube Adapter (Long) and the Modular Saber Tube Adapter are both in the box, so the tube mounts and takes accessories with nothing else to buy.
