Start with what you want to do. The BitWhip Kit (from $159.95) paints the air with hundreds of fibers, the Saber Kit (from $179.95) is for contact and performance flow, the Fiber Optic Costume Kit (from $189.95) is wearable light, and the Light Painting Kit for Beginners ($199.95) is the right start for long-exposure photos. Every kit comes with the light in the box.
A kit comes with the RGB Critter BT that powers it. An accessory is the prop on its own, for when you already own an RGB Critter BT.
Yes, one at a time. The RGB Critter BT twists out of one accessory and into the next, so after your first kit you only buy the accessory.
