The Butterfly Light Painting Tube uses a precision laser-cut butterfly pattern to add detailed texture to your light trails in long-exposure photography.

Required: the RGB Critter Tube Adapter, sold separately, to mount this tube on your Critter. Works with all RGB Critter Flashlights, also sold separately.

The 36 inch length is threaded at its free end and comes with a Saber Twist-On Cap in the box. The 5, 11, 17, 23 and 29 inch lengths are not threaded and do not include a cap.

How it connects

Twist the RGB Critter Tube Adapter onto the front of your RGB Critter.
Push this tube into the adapter's socket.
Tighten the adapter's two set screws with the hex key that comes with it. The six openings along the top of the adapter are light ports, not screws.

Parts you may need

RGB Critter Tube Adapter (required). The mounting end of this tube is bare, so this is what holds it on your Critter. It twists onto the Critter's front, the tube pushes into its socket, and two set screws lock it down. Skip it only if you already own one.
Modular Saber Tube Connector. Joins two tubes end to end for a longer tool. Two set screws per side, four total, all preinstalled.
Modular Saber Tube Adapter. Required for a twist-on accessory on a 5 to 29 inch tube, which has no thread of its own. It clamps onto a tube end and adds the AOAM female thread that the Modular End Cap screws into. It does not make the Saber Twist-On Cap fit: that cap threads into the tube itself, so it needs a saber tube or the 36 inch light painting tube.

The RGB critter (I have two) is just the most versatile light painting tool for the photo industry I have ever come across. The assortment of accessories that are available for this system of lighting is impressive and well designed and well made. Put some of this AOM gear in your bag and take your skills to a whole new level. This is an example of spiral light photography with the Critter RGB and the 2" acrylic light writer.

I love the versatility of the rgb critter. All the tools I use are so luminously intense and the pre-installed programs are fantastic. Also recommended is the DIY adapter with which I can connect my own tools to the critter. 🔦📷

I love the light produces, figuring out how it works….. not so easy

My photos where I have used the. Ritter look awesome. I love the how I can get multiple colors in one exposure. If want a certain color finding that is not easy.

This thing is THICK!!!

I've purchased a lot of blades and attempted to make my own blades. When i say that the 9" Digital Feather is the THICKEST blades I've ever seen, held, used....etc!! When I say this blade is bright and holds the light.....it REALLY holds the light!! When it's paired with the AOAM Critter....magic happens!!! If the rest of the blades are this thick, I'll eventually buy all of them.

Pretty Cool Tool

I've used several different kinds of light tubes, and I have to say; initially i didnt see a difference between a regular tube and the Butterfly Lumi Saber.....that was until I looked at my images. I was completely blown away first and foremost at the texture of the light painting images I was able to create, the build quality and overall construction is top notch, I do have to work the threads a little to get the saber to attach to the Critter, but once it's on there....it's ON THERE!!! The saber is really light....I mean REALLY light, like i almost threw it in a tree while i was swinging it around....I guess I was a little too excited...lol! I definitely would recommend the AOAM tools to any and all levels of light painters and light dancers.

Long Overdue Review

This review is long overdue, I've had my Critter for probably 3 months now and I've got to say that this has to be the BEST flashlight I've used in my short time as a light painter. It eliminates the need for attaching color filters in my plexi, the various colors and speed modes are easy to navigate once you learn how to do it. I'm actually about to buy another one as I'm writing this review. Big thanks to the AOAM crew for all that you do for the light painting community.

Lumi Sabre (Honeycomb 24")

I purchased the Lumi sabre with the honeycomb pattern a couple of months ago. The first thing is the quality of the material used. It just feels robust. The balance, when attached to the critter, is excellent. Allows for great free flowing movement. The pattern printed on the sleeve adds great texture to any images created using this tool. The 24" length is great for me. Allows me to create circles that just touch the ground. The choice of lengths makes it a very versatile tool for those of all heights. Basically, a good solid versatile tool. Thank You Ants on a Melon .

Lumi Tubes Rule

The Lumi Tube accessory is a must have for light painters. The small dot spiral & large/small dot hybrid create some of the coolest patterns out there especially with colorfade mode on. With the updated firmware its a breeze to use. I personally find the 24" to be just the right size for ease of movement and still be able to create pretty awesome circles behind the subject. Thank you AOAM for continuing to provide some of the best tools out there for light painters!
