The RGB Critter BT is threaded at the lens. Accessories from the RGB Critter product line are also threaded. You attach them to the RGB Critter by twisting them into the front end of the flashlight. When the RGB Critter is turned on, it will light up the attached accessory.

Multiple Connected Devices Issue Notice
The Ants on a Melon App enables users to connect up to 10 RGB Critter BT Flashlights simultaneously. However, it is important to note that there is a known issue with color-changing modes when multiple Critter BTs are connected to the app. The colors may not always match perfectly on the connected flashlights. This issue only applies to color-changing modes, as solid colors will always match on any number of connected RGB Critter BTs. A resolution for this known issue is expected by the end of 2024. Once the issue is resolved, you can update your RGB Critter BT using the app.

Choose from an insane amount of color options using three different color pickers within the iOS Ants on a Melon App! The main LED on the RGB Critter BT displays all selected colors and mode patterns in real-time, allowing you to see the actual colors and patterns on the physical flashlight.
*These color pickers are only available in the iOS version of the App.

EXPLORE ACCESSORIESI’ve followed along with AoM’s evolution for a very long time. From the very first flashlight they made, years ago, their tools have been the bread and butter for my light painting life. It’s amazing and exciting to see how far they’ve come in developing and leading the industry in innovation when it comes to light painting. I was stoked to use the RGB Critter when it came out, but now with the BT, the very few things I would have changed with the RGB Critter have been taken care of with the app connectivity. While I used the RGB Critter for all my light painting, it was difficult and inconvenient to flip through colors and modes, especially during an exposure. Now, I can easily and quickly flip through modes without eating into my exposure time or getting light bleed in my image. Also, the little things the app includes like custom modes and favorites playlists, as well as easily accessed special modes like strobe and momentary off buttons are amazing. I should add that I’m an AoM ambassador, but in my career I’ve had ambassador offers from multiple companies, and I’ve stuck with AoM because of great staff, a wonderful community, and most importantly to me, the best light painting tools on the market. Highly, highly recommend the BT!!🙌

Unfortunately being light nights I haven’t had the opportunity to really use the RGB Critter BT properly but have handled it enough to say it is comfortable to hold and sits in the palm quite naturally. The app makes the selection of modes very easy, no need to go through cycling to find the right one.
Until the days become shorter, I shall continue to play with my new toy! 😀
AOAM has been an amazing light whip device to use after trying a couple brands prior. It was already a great whip and now with its updates being able to change and create color mode playlists via Bluetooth with the app it is an absolute game changer. So easy and user friendly to use and makes such a difference!
